What Dexter Does Now

These days Dexter is working on some physical things. He loves to pull himself up on the side of his crib. He loves to stand by himself as he holds on to something, or if he's holding Daddy's fingers and trying to walk - which actually turns into more of a form of squatting dance... He is getting better and better at rolling over and in fact, it's his main form of transportation right now. He's not quite at crawling yet, but I think he might be soon! He pulls himself up on his hands and knees every once in a while, but doesn't stay that way. However, tonight, I caught him doing something I'd never seen him do before! I'd say this is just one "step" closer to crawling than he's ever been before! Before I took this video, I had just put him on the floor, sitting. I was a little late to catch it from the beginning, but you get the idea!

Also new these days is solid food! Dexter's first real food was Cheerios! He didn't quite get the hang of it at first, but after a few times he was a Cheerio eating pro! Watch him as he attempts to eat his snack!

Helping Mom work from home

When I work from home Dexter sometimes has to hang out in the background - especially if his naps are off. Sometimes, though, it's so tempting to give into that cuteness! Here is Dexter amusing himself while I work. (Forgive the bag of recycling in the foreground...)

dexter occupies himself while mama works

Until he notices me and decides to take a closer look...

hey mom, what are you doing?

Then does what he does best: licks things. Or just decides the side of the pack and play looks delicious...

umm. gross.

He tried this section too...

nom nom nom! this mesh is delicious!

How can you say no to this face?

hey mom, c'mon and play!

The Big Tub

bath baby

It's bath night! We've recently transitioned Dexter to the big tub. It's a lot harder to keep slippery little Dexter undrowned, but it's a lot easier to clean up. Also, it is easier access to SPLASHING! Once he was let loose, it was impossible to stop him!

That's ok though, I can get up this side too! What do you mean I'm too young to be standing in my crib?

Boy cousins

Over New Years our little family went down south to meet up with our bigger family. The whole "LeOzinga" clan was there! And Dexter had a good time with all his cousins - including his crazy cousins Amelia and Greta (who kept him entertained in his exersaucer) and his other boy cousin, Wyatt! Wyatt is almost exactly year older than Dexter, so they have a lot to talk about.

Here's Wyatt and Dexter on New Year's Day... doing something? Is Wyatt feeding Dex? Challenging him to a baby duel? Asking Dex why he's in the exersaucer? Mind melding?
wyatt feeds? dexter

And here is the only picture where both of them were looking at the camera. Silly babies.
