4th of july
hi again everyone! it's me! today i'm 17 days old. i'm definitely enjoying my first 4th of july holiday! mommy and daddy are both home. daddy has been working on my room (i might someday have a room to call my own after all!) and mommy has been running errands and taking care of me. as for me, i have celebrated most of the day by crying and being cranky! though i did have a nice time when mommy took a walk with me in the moby wrap. i love that thing because i am all cuddled up. i love to be cuddled up.
i am also wearing my special 4th of july outfit from mrs. dekoster! i look really festive!

anyway, that is all i have time to post today. babies need a lot of sleep and i am no exception. hope you all had a good holiday too!

2 week stats
Today we took Dexter to the Dr. for his 2 week check-up. I tried to time it with naps, but didn't do too good of a job, so Dex was pretty mucha screaming mess through the appointment. However, everything that needed to get done and checked did get done and checcked - so, success! His stats were also pretty great!
At birth, Dex was 9lbs, 1oz. Today, 2 weeks and 1 day later, he is 10lbs, 2oz! (Way to grow Dex!) He is in the 80th percentile for weight.
At birth, he was 21" long, but today he was 22.5"! This is the 95th percentile for height! (I don't know where he got the tall genes... Joel and I are both the shortest in our families!
Finally, I'm not sure what his head circumference was at birth, but at his 4 day appointment with the Dr. it was 14" around. Today it was 15", and in the 75th percentile.
In conclusion, he is definitely a growing boy! His next appointment will come at the end of August. Until then we are working on closing up his cord stump (eww) and getting rid of an eye infection resulting from a clogged tear duct from ointment they put in his eyes immediately after birth. We'll see how he does until then!
